friendsOperation - S.H.A.R.E.: Making Friends Forever

What would make 2011 a success in your eyes—finding a job or maintaining employment; getting healthy or staying well; paying off the credit cards or saving for the future?

All of these ideas make excellent goals. But what if this year, your greatest hope and desire was that your friend, family member, co-worker, or neighbor accepted God's gift of forgiveness and became His friend forever?

Like with any personal goal, dream or desire, it often requires individual effort to realize the potential rewards.

To that end, First Baptist Cumming has launched Operation - S.H.A.R.E. to help our Family of Faith remain focused on intentionally sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with others.

To consistently experience and share the hope and peace found in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a Christian must: See people through God's eyes; Hear people with God's heart; Ask if people have received God's gift of eternal life; Rely on God's promises; and Expect God's blessings.

S.H.A.R.E. is an acrostic that represents the biblical foundation and practical principles for obeying Christ's command to be His witnesses in our community, state, nation and world. (Acts 1:8)

See people through God's eyes. "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) Also read John 3:16.

Hear people with God's heart. "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

Ask people to accept God's gift. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23) Also read Ephesians. 2:8.

Rely on God's promises. "I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes." (Romans 1:16)

Expect God's blessings. "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13)
